Don't Give Up On Me Dad is at once both heartbreaking and heartwarming. The difficult story is cushioned by Andy's humour and kindness as he takes the audience by the hand and dives into topics of grief, family, and mental health struggles.

Andy Jones is a beloved and acclaimed Newfoundland playwright, actor, author and storyteller who has learned and created his own adaptations of several traditional folk tales centred around a main character, Jack. "Jack tales" as they are known have been told in Newfoundland kitchens for generations. Andy has published some of these Jack tales in a series of beautiful books which have been nominated for a Governor General’s Award. One of them, Jack and Mary in the Land of Thieves won the 2012 BMO Winterset Award. As an actor, playwright and storyteller, Andy has toured to perform at venues across the country and the province and has appeared in many film and television productions. Andy is a founding member of the Newfoundland comedy troupe Codco and has received the Order of Canada and the Order of Newfoundland. He is currently touring his one-man play Don’t Give Up On Me Dad across the province.
